The following article was found at Heartcrymissionary.com written by Paul Washer. This is so important for us as Christians to understand. It explains the true meaning of the cross which is often overlooked. The Cross of Christ
By Paul Washer One of my greatest burdens is that the Cross of Christ is rarely explained. It is not enough to say that “He died” -for all men die. It is not enough to say that “He died a noble death” -for martyrs do the same. We must understand that we have not fully proclaimed the death of Christ with saving power until we have cleared away the confusion that surrounds it and expounded its true meaning to our hearers -He died bearing the transgressions of His people and suffering the divine penalty for their sins: He was forsaken of God and crushed under the wrath of God in their place. Forsaken of God One of the most disturbing, even haunting, passages in the Scriptures is Mark’s record of the great cry of the Messiah as He hung upon a Roman Cross. In a loud voice He cried out: “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which is translated, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” In light of what we know about the impeccable nature of the Son of God and His perfect fellowship with the Father, it is difficult to comprehend Christ’s words, yet in them, the meaning of the Cross is laid bare, and we find the reason for which Christ died. The fact that His words are also recorded in the original Hebrew tongue tells us something of their great importance. The author did not want us to misunderstand or to miss a thing! |

A recent survey done by Pew Research Center involving 35,000 American's shows some alarming statistics about Christian beliefs in America. The survey shows that about 70% of Christians in America believe there are many ways to heaven! Some will say it shows we are becoming more tolerant, politically correct, and "open-minded". Sadly what this actually shows is that Christians in America don't read their bibles. Jesus clearly stated, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." -John 14:6.
It also shows that 70% of self-professing Christians in America might not really be Christians. Many are tares sowed among the wheat: Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared. “The owner's servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn't you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’ ‘An enemy did this,’ he replied. “The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’” ‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may root up the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’” - Matthew 13:24-30 The teachings and words of Jesus Christ clearly state there is only one narrow way, and there is a broad way that leads to destruction. “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." - Matthew 7:13 |

The bible says you must be Born Again, given a new heart with new desires by the power of the Holy Spirit. "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." - John 3:3. Repentance: - Acts 17:30 God "commands all men everywhere to repent"
- Acts 17:31"Because he has appointed a day, in which he will judge the world in righteousness."
